Who are We?

Slippery Rock Rotary club is a member of Rotary International, a network of more than 34,000 Rotary clubs worldwide, and has access to RI services and resources, including publications in nine languages, information at HYPERLINK http://www.rotary.org *The Slippery Rock Rotary Club meets each Monday from noon to 1:00pm, except bank holidays, in the lower level of NexTier Bank in downtown Slippery Rock, PA. Currently, dues are $ 185.00 per year, which covers RI, District and Club fees as well as a subscription to the Rotarian, the Rotary monthly Magazine. Dues are collected on July 1 to July 30 calendar and are pro-rated for members joining after July 1.There is no initiation or admission fee.

What do we do?
We raise money to contribute to locally in support of: Slippery Rock Feed My Sheep food Cupboard Slippery Rock Community Library Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department Slippery Rock University Foundation Slippery Rock Development Recycling efforts within the community and in support of Slippery Rock University Students (ROTARACT).We chartered our current Rotary Organization (ROTARACT) at Slippery Rock University in 2012. How We support others?


We organize and operate a Golf Classic with a host of sponsors and participants to raise funds. We organize and operate a Pancake Day on election day to build fellowship and raise funds We organize and operate a booth during Village Fest to education the students about Rotary Recycling and other efforts to positively impact our community. We organize and bring in professionals to coordinate and direct our AMBA Blood Screening Program

Future Support
We support The Rotary Foundation whose goals for 2013-2014 include: Eradicate polio and make our dream of a polio-free world real. Successfully launch our new grants model, putting our transformative Future Vision Plan into practice worldwide. Engage in innovative projects and creative partnerships that help build a more just and peaceful world. Build ownership and pride in our Foundatin by supporting the Annyual Fund, the Permanent Fund and the Polio Plus Fund. We plan in 2014 to work with other Rotary clubs and take a lead in contributing to a desperately needed Water Purification System in UGANDA We plan to raise funds by parking cars this summers upcoming summer Fireworks Festival at Cooper Lake We plan to hold a symposium in April of 2014 Waging Peace as a Vocation and create greater awareness among students how their future may be impacted by vocational options they may not have considered previously.

In recent years our club has annually contributed between $ 5,000$10,000 for our charitable activities.

We have hosted golf outings, pancake days and spaghetti dinners and other events to raise those funds.

Building friendship through acquaintanceship leading to service at our weekly luncheons. As part of our participation and support of Slippery Rock in Bloom, we work with community members, and university students to clean up our streets, pull weeds and plant flowers to help beautify our town and build enthusiasm for the upcoming year.
