We claim that the temperature is affected because the amount of the vinegar did change. ! Our evidence is every time we put 5cc of vinegar it would rise almost 1degree c. Also, we think that we put enough of vinegar in the cup to make it rise. We also think that the temperature rose 1degree c each time almost. So that's why we think that the amount of vinegar affected the temperature and the steel wool. In checking with the experts we have found that the vinegar removed the steel wool coating. This allows the iron in the steel wool to rust which is called oxidation. It's a chemical reaction because there's a color change, and there's a new substance.
