CORPORATION DEFINITION
Investopedias Definition: A corporation is created (incorporated) by a group of shareholders who have ownership of the corporation, represented by their holding of common stock. Shareholders elect a board of directors (generally receiving one vote per share) who appoint and oversee management of the corporation. Although a corporation does not necessarily have to be for profit, the vast majority of corporations are setup with the goal of providing a return for its shareholders. When you purchase stock you are becoming part owner in a corporation.

CONCLUSION
Larry H. Miller created the Miller Group that has control over some of the largest and important buildings in the Salt Lake Valley, such as the Energy Solutions Arena, Megaplex Jordon Commons, etc. While still alive, he did his best to be a bridgebuilder in the local community. In order to give others a chance to become something more in their futures, he donated over $50 million to Salt Lake Community College. It has given more opportunities that has allowed students to learn importance in entrepreneurship to public security to automotive works and to the culinary arts. In the end, after researching what the Miller Group gains from SLCC, I have found that the Miller Group really doesnt get much in return other than promotional value and a famous name to be learned. For those students that wish to deepen their understanding of any of the opportunities that the Miller Campus has available, I recommend that it would be best to take advantage of the largest gift a community college has ever received from a private party.
