English III Course Syllabus

Course Description: This semester we will be exploring the theme of journey,

change, and myth. We will write a personal narrative in myth form, read a variety of
British writers, and explore future career options.

Course Goals: We will read The Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le K. Guin, explore
the idea of myth and journey in detail, write personal narratives in a myth form, and
read British short stories and poetry.

Course Expectations: Students will be expected to attend regularly, participate in

class discussions, work to the best of their ability on class assignments, and attend
field trips.

Course grading: 90-100 A

80-89 B
