Victoria, BC, [Date] The Ministry of Health, a Government Division located in Victoria BC, plans to convert their seated desk to ergonomically designed standing desks to combat the obesity epidemic. Numerous reports and studies conducted have concluded that sitting down for long periods is one of the most dangerous things we can do for our health. The act of standing up for an extra 90 minutes a day can decrease the risks associated with the sedentary office lifestyle.
Dr. Henson states, The longer the time you spend sitting, the higher the amount of sugars and fats that accumulate in your bloodstream regardless of the time you spend exercising."

The time spent sitting down may increase your chances of death at a younger age. As a part of the Ministry of Healths initiative to switch to the standing desks, it could extend ones life for up to three years. Standing desks will act as a preventative measure to fighting obesity and disease. ####
