Construction and why /e are having the wheel" higher than the mou"e trap "o that the "tring i" not only being pulled but it i" al"o being pulled down. +ulling the "tring down i" adding more #orce. /e are u"ing big wheel" to get #arther! becau"e one rotation o# a bigger wheel will go more di"tance. /e are u"ing lego wheel" #or their grip becau"e when the "tring i" pulled the wheel" would 0u"t 0u"t "pin. /e want it to be "mall! becau"e more ma"" would "low" it down. /e put "traw" over the bra"" rod" "o we can hot glue the ba"e and the a*le together! and "till allow the a*le to turn or "pin.They al"o provide "eparation between the "tring and the wheel. /e are u"ing a bra"" a*le a" a bar attached to the mou"e trap and "tring. Tests and Improvements Te"t 13 ailure. /e had to much "tring and the hot glued bar broke in hal#. /e cut the "tring in hal# and are only u"ing one bra"" a*le. Te"t .3 ailure. To little pull #rom the bra"" a*le! becau"e the "tring wa" to tight and to much in length. /e cut the "tring again! and wrapped it more lo"e. Te"t 13 ailure. /e had to much pull #rom the bra"" a*le! becau"e the "tring wa" to lo"e. Te"t 23 ailure. The car moved! but kept getting "uck. So we made the back a*le bigger by taping a piece o# bra"" to it.

Te"t 43 ailure. The car didn-t move! becau"e the mou"e trap doe"n-t have enough #orce. So we are attaching the bra"" rod with the "tring! to the mou"e trap arm. Te"t 53 67. /e got the car to move! but a#ter cutting the "tring "o many time"8 it-" not long enough.

Te"t 93 Succe"": The car moved hal# way down the length be#ore it ran out o# "tring! "o we are making the "tring longer and thinner. Te"t <3 /e think the car i" too heavy now "o we removed the card" #rom the bottom. =n the end it wa" "ucce"" and we got a ma* o# 1. #eet.

Problems /e needed a way to "ecure the wheel" do we decided to u"e two metal wa"her" and a rubber "topper. The wa"her goe" on either "ide o# the wheel and the "topper on the out"ide o# the wheel to hold it in place. /hen we hot glued the in"ide metal wa"her to the "traw over the a*le to hold the wheel "teady. /e needed to make a bar that would make the car go #arther by creating an arc which pull" the "tring longer #ather! creating more di"tance. So we hot glued two bra"" bar" together. 6n the #ir"t run it broke be#ore the car moved "o we 0u"t u"ed one bar in"tead o# two. The car wa"n-t moving becau"e the back wa" too light in the back and a deck o# card"! taped to the bottom back. Hoping thi" would make the wheel" have to "pin. The mou"e trap doe"n-t have enough #orce to pull the "tring! "o we are attaching the mou"e arm to the bra"" rod. The wheel wa" glued! but ended up #alling o## "o we had to re8glue it. The "tring wa" to "hort "o we cut it o## and retied u"ing thinner "tring. The reloading o# the "tring wa" taking to long "o we hot glued the "tring "o we could twi"t it ea"ier. Special Tools The computer wa" the #ir"t tool" or machine that we u"ed. /e u"ed it #or re"earching web"ite" and what our de"ign "hould look like. /e u"ed the band "aw to cut the wood #or the ba"e o# our mou"e trap car. /e u"ed a hot glue gun to glue the wood #or the mou"e trap car ba"e. 6ur team al"o u"ed clamp" to hold down the cardboard to the table when we hot glued the mou"e trap car.
