Post Cards,—Canada, U. S. or Mexico, i cent;


British and foreign, 2 cents.
Letters.—Canada, U. S. or Mexico, United King-
dom, Egypt, British Possessions and Protectorates,
2 cents per ounce. To foreign countries, 5 cents for
the first ounce and 3 cents for each additional ounce
or fraction of an ounce. Local or drop-letters, 1 cent
per ounce.
Books, Circulars, etc.—Canada and all Postal
Union Countries, 1 cent per -2 ounces. Limit, 5
pounds, (Single book, 10 pounds), domestic., foreign,
4 pounds, G ounces. Size, domestic, limited to 30 in.
by 12 in. width or depth. Open at both ends or both
sides.
Newspapers.—Per four ounces, 1 cent.
Merchandise, etc.—(Fourth-class Matter). In
Canada or to U. S., 1 cent per ounce or fraction
thereof. Limit 5 po'inds in Canada, 4 pounds 6
ounces to the United States; 30 in. by 12 in.^ width or
depth. Open to examination.
Samples.—1 cent per 2 ounces or fraction thereof.
(tinimum payment to places outside of Canada, 2
cents. Limits: Canada, 3 pounds (tea 8 oz.); United
Kingdom, j pounds; U. S. and foreign countries, 12
ounces. Must not have salable value.
Commercial Papers.—Foreign Post, 1 cent per
2 ounces. Minimum payment, 5 cents. Limits, 4
pounds, 2 ft. by 1 ft. width or depth. A roll may be
30 in. by 4 in. •
Parcel Post.—United Kingdom, Mexico, Jamaica,
Bahamas, St. Lucia, Barbadoes, Leeward Islands,
British Guiana, 12 cents per pound or fraction thereof.
Limit, 11 pounds, 30 in. length, 12 in. width or depth.
Combined length and girth, 6 ft. Golf sticks, um-
brellas, etc., 42 in. length allowed. For other coun-
tries consult Postmaster.
Registration. — 5 cents in addition to regular
postage.
Special Delivery Letters.—In certain cities of
Canada. 7 A. M. to 10 p. M., except Sunday, 10 cents
extra postage and words "Special Delivery," upper
left hand corner.
Post Office Savings Banks.—P O. Savings
Banks are established at general offices and mostc:
the branches. Sums of one dollar or any multiple o:
one dollar may be deposited. Interest, 3 per cent,
