Kindergarten Corner Weekly News

Whats New
We had another great week in Kindergarten. This week we celebrated the first day of fall and Johnny Appleseeds birthday. The students had a wonderful time enjoying the fruit of fall, apples! We explored our sense of taste by trying four different types of apples and graphing our favorite one on our class graph. The students favorite was the Red Delicious apples. We also created apples describing how our favorite apple tasted. Next week we are going to continue practicing our weekly vocabulary words and discussing fun facts about fall and differences between the four different seasons. We are also going to study how plants grow by creating pumpkin planters! Please send in one medium size pumpkin by Friday, October 4 so that our pumpkins can start growing by Halloween. Please check our class calendar weekly to see if it is your childs week to bring snack Read with your child for 15 minutes each night. Encourage your child to read aloud to you, a sibling, or even a stuffed animal. Please return library books are by Thursday. Show and Tell is on Friday.

Family Project
The change in the weather and the days growing shorter lets us know fall has arrived! During the month of October, our class is learning all about fall and of course pumpkins! Attached you will find this months family project. Please work with your child and other members of your family to create a Family Pumpkin. Return Family Pumpkins on or before Friday, October 18 so we may display them in the hall outside of our classroom.
