Berlin Wall The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 in Germany.

It was located in Berlin, and it was built because everyone on the east of the wall kept escaping to the west. I have been studying Germany in Global Studies and saw a black and white photo of the Berlin Wall. On the right of the photo, there is a man holding a little girl, both with fair skin. The girl has short blonde hair with little curls. The man and the little girl are both in the front right corner and take up about 1/3 of the picture. They are both looking over the dirty wall to the other side. To the left side of them was a man who is wearing a grey dress hat, with a black suit and he clasped his hands behind his back, staring past the wall. The wall was right in front of the man. The wall was surrounded by an old chained fence. The bricks were all uneven, and below there were holes in the wall. The wall also had many poles sticking out of it. There was barbed wire on top of the fence, and the bricks were dirty and old. In the background, there were three buildings, two bikes closer to the man, and a woman next to the bikes. Next to the bikes, to the left of the people in the background, are two cars. Overall, the mood of this time was very sad because families were separated.

This is a photo of the East side of the wall.
