COMPUTER-AIDED LOAD-FLOW STUDIES OF 132KV TRANSMISSION LINE IN NIGERIA USING OSOGBO AXIS AS A CASE STUDY FAMOKUN, ZACCHAEUS ADELUSE Authors: ONI, J.O power mathematical model Keywords: numerical iterative linear equations Borland Turbo C++ Issue Date: 14-Oct-2011 Load-flow studies are necessary and imperative on every power system in order to be able to monitor and control performance. This write-up is a report of the loadflow studies performed on the Osogbo axis of the Nigerian National132kv power system sub-grid. The study entails the development of a mathematical model of the system, which gives rise to a set of equations. describing the voltage-power relationship of the network. Gauss-Siedel's numerical iterative method of solving non-linear equations was used as a mathematical tool for solving the equations and processed using a software," Borland Turbo C++ version 3.0. The system as it Abstract: exists presently is predominantly radial. Borland Turbo C++ version 3.0 was used as the programming language. The system configuration as it exists presently is predominantly radial. The results of the load-flow performed on the system in this research work showed that the system is not overloaded However this does not guarantee the reliability of the system either because of the radial disposition. Some buses were looped as shown in figure 40 to obtain a 'virtual' ring system and result investigated. The result showed that under-voltage occurred in the buses. Reasons for this were advanced in the report. Suggestions were also made what practically could be done to optimize the performance of the system.
