Savage Worlds Initiative d20 alternate rule: Everyone rolls a d20 for initiative. If a 20 is rolled, that counts as a Joker.

The initiative altering Edges work almost exactly the same, with Level-Headed (and Improved Level-Headed) allowing an additional die (or two) to be rolled, taking the best, and Quick allows a reroll on any result of 6 or less. --The first edition of SW had a dice-based initiative system as an alternative. 1. Everyone rolls d12. 2. Count a 12 as a joker result, triggering normal wild card effects. 3. Quickness Edge lets you reroll any result less than 4. 4. Level-Headed/Improved Level-Headed lets you choose the best of 2 or 3 d12 rol ls. Using a d20 shouldn't be too big of a deal, if you're content with increasing th e joker chances. I don't play the game currently, but in my experience it was just as ti me consuming to see who went when as with dice, so it's really up to personal prefe rence.
