Obey Authority

January 26- February 2, 2014

Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible story with your child each day. As this is done, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source.

We need to obey those in authority over us.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord. . . Ephesians 6:1

God, I worship You with all my heart. I want to know You by reading Your Word, listening to You, going to church, and being willing to forgive others. Thank You for good teachers and help me to choose good friends. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. Bless Pastor Ron and his family with strength and grace. Help me to look for ways to bless others. Thank you that because of Jesus, I am healed and whole. In Jesus Name, Amen

Moses and the Israelites were on a journey through the wilderness. God provided manna for them to eat - a wafer-like substance that tasted like honey. It would be on the ground each morning. The people were to gather only what they needed for that day. Some did not obey and the leftovers spoiled. On the day before the Sabbath, a day of rest, they were to gather enough for 2 days. Manna would not be there on the day of rest. Again, some did not obey and had no manna to eat the second day. Obeying - following Gods directions - is important! Exodus 16:11-31

Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, who have set Your glory above the heavens!
