Appendix A: Goal Statement and Supporting Triangulation of Data

Student performance Goals 1 and 2 were chosen based on the following sources: Assessment of Student/Teacher Needs Surveys through data collection at CSI meetings and instructional strategy reviews Local Assessments Results TerraNova (Total & sub-tests) Analyzing text and written communication were the goals for 2006 2010. After analyzing data, the staff concluded that math was a major area of concern. Therefore, the decision to integrate the writing goal into a math and reading strategy goal was reached by consensus. Student Performance Goal #1: By 2014, 75% or more of our student population will be able to communicate and apply mathematical concepts through computation, problem solving, modeling, real life situations and interpretation of data as measured by various assessments. Student Performance Goal #2: By 2014, 75% or more of our student population will be able to write responses that demonstrate knowledge through the use of reading and writing strategies that interpret and extend the use of information from texts across the curriculum as measured by various assessments.
