Introduction
Keeping track of hours worked is an essential part of the contractor's job, to ensure that the correct hours
are invoiced. This handy spreadsheet is set up to allow the contractor to record hours booked. In addition,
the spreadsheet can be used to record mileage (useful if travel expenses are claimed). The spreadsheet
is split into the following sections:
i. Manhours are recorded on four worksheets (One for each quarter of the year).
ii. The fifth worksheet provides an overall summary of booked hours and income

Recording Manhours
Each week is setup individually, identified by the weekending date (i.e. the Saturday). The manhours are inputted
over three columns (cells requiring data are highlighted in green, with bold text).
i. Time in
ii. Time out
iii. Time taken for lunch.
Days not worked should be left blank.

Recording Mileage
Many contractors are able to claim mileage to and from their place of work. Daily mileage figures can be entered
into the table on the right hand side of the spreadsheet (cells requiring data are highlighted in green with bold

Wednesday - Hours worked between 8:30am and 5:00pm, with a 30 minute lunch,
hence 8 hours booked
Thursday - Hours worked between 8am and 5:00pm, with an hour lunch, hence
8 hours booked
Friday - Half day book between 8am and 12:30pm, with no lunch, hence
booked
Saturday - No hours booked
In addition, the user has booked a daily mileage allowance of 20 miles - giving a total of
100 miles for the week.

Summary Worksheet
The fifth worksheet provides a summary of the manhours worked and earnings for the
calender year - the user has to input the contract hourly rate.
