Summary Notes

Home price growth remained high, but continued to slow in most markets in January.
Sales decreased in most markets.
Foreclosures activity continues to decrease.

November Housing Performance


Home price growth turned negative in a few markets and slowed in nearly all markets in December.

Home price growth was positive in 38 of the 42 reported counties over the last month and
quarter.
Home price growth was positive in 41 of the 42 reported counties over the last year.
Sales increased in 11 of the 42 reported counties over the last month.
Sales increased in 2 of the 42 reported counties over the last quarter.
Sales increased in 9 of the 42 reported counties over the last year.
Foreclosures decreased in 31 of the 42 reported counties over the last month, and quarter, and
year.

Housing Outlook
As we previously noted, the pace of home price growth was not sustainable, given the fairly weak
underlying economic drivers. This month, home price growth, while remaining positive, continued the
decrease that had started in previous months. Even with this slowing pace, home prices growth remains
above the rate that can be sustained by the currently-weak economic drivers as average annualized
home price growth across all 42 reported markets was 8.9%.
