COPE has leaders and works with social workers at: Dawes School Kingsley School Oakton School Orrington School Chute School Haven School King Arts School Washington School Willard School Walker School Pope John School
What we Do
COPE began when a handful of Evanston parents responded to their neighbors in need. We now have volunteer groups at eleven of the Evanston schools. Each COPE works with the school social worker to identify necessities and each COPE determines their level of activity, from casserole deliveries to furniture exchanges, to monthly grocery programs and service projects that include students.

Q&A
How do I start a COPE at my childs school? It only takes one or even two volunteers willing to work with their school social worker. COPE volunteers email their school communities and the COPE director to find resources like food, beds, appliances and other hard-to-get items. They also create a list of volunteers willing to help families with a sick parent.
Does COPE help with financial needs? In a few instances, COPE has been able to fundraise to pay for doctors bills for a child with cancer, a funeral dress for a parent whose husband died or an electric bill for a family whose child had asthma but in most cases, COPE provides groceries, meals, carpools and other simple assistance. Our most popular donations are used beds for families who need them. How can I get involved with COPE? We always need volunteers! Just call 847-361-2605 or drop us an email at careteam@evanstoncope.org. If you would like to donate, there is a link on our website evanstoncope.org or you can send a check to COPE at 2300 Greenbay Road, Evanston 60201.
