Identifying the elements that connect the 3 different parts of the NME magazine together

The house style is represented throughout the magazine by the use of colour. The colours red, black and white are continuously used throughout the magazine showing consistency and also professionalism. Theses colours are shown in the masthead, cover lines and for the content inside the magazine. These colours are appropriate for the genre of music as the connotations are anger which reflects the style of music. Also the colour white can connote clarity and a sense of fresh new music which links back with the genre of hip hop due to it being fairly new to the music industry. This also links back to the name of the magazine, it being New Musial Express. The type of font is also constant throughout the magazine also the use of capital letters are show throughout. This shows that the magazine is edgy and not aligned which reflects the rock feel to the magazine and each page. The language is the same throughout the magazine. The language is quite informal, using slang and a shortening of words to attract the audience. The target audience are youths who stereotypically use more informal language when communicating. With this common relation the audience would feel more inclined to read to magazine as it is as if the reader is talking to the audience like they are friends. The front cover and the content page contain the same NME logo on the left hand side of the page. This is effective as it reminds the audience the name of the magazine, making them remember it therefore promoting the magazine.
