Mary Reitenour attended a 1st grade PLC meeting to help explain her process in the intervention process. They only needed to focus on 3 areas. Using interventions twice a week with the assistance of Title I tutors. First grade is further ahead this year than in years past. Feels that focus on the spring helped get them there. 2nd grade It is going well. Excited that tutors are assisting with the interventions. IXL is also helping. Some groups are having trouble with the math facts. Some students are looking at each others computer. 3rd grade we usually spend the first trimester teaching addition and subtraction. Math chapters have been rearranged to hit the essential skills and the nice to knows have been moved to the end. 4th grade level usually we spend the whole year on math facts typically start division in January. With CCSS we had to bump everything up and it has been wonderful. Tremendous growth! MAC - 4th/5th grade level Do we work on decimals at the same time as fractions? Screener went really well. It helped us focus in the skills. There are some that we were able to skip right over because they had been mastered. 5th grade Havent been letting Delta Math drive them. Every building is doing it differently. Working on multiplication and division facts and they are getting really good at it. Currently working on decimals and then will move into fractions for the rest of the year. OMS werent specific areas that they needed to work on. Technology worked better this year. Hitting items in the daily warm up. OHS Will be given screener when class lists are loaded. He will be using the Algebra I screener.
