Word 2003 provides several ways of applying font formatting:


The Formatting Toolbar has buttons to apply font, size, some font styles, and font color formatting.

Word 2003 Formatting Toolbar Shortcut keys enable you to apply some font formatting. The Font dialog enables you to apply all kinds of font formatting. To bring up the Font dialog, you can highlight te t, then right click your mouse button and a pop up !indo! !ill appears. "lick on Font and the Font dialogue !ill appear. To apply font formatting !ith the Font dialog, choose Format % Font or press "trl&D.

The Font dialogue !indo! !ill appear pro'iding many options for applying 'arious font styles. There are three tabs across the top, one for Font Formatting, "haracter (pacing, and Te t )ffects. From this dialo you can do the follo!ing:

Font #nderline Styles and colors can be selected by choosing an underline style from the ,nderline (tyle drop do!n selection bo . "olors may be applied to the underlines by choosing a color from the #nderline !olor selection bo . Font $ffects like strikethrough, shado!, outline, etc., can be selected by checking the appropriate bo es in the )ffects area of the Font Dialog bo . They can be pre'ie!ed belo! in the -re'ie! area. T%&S .t/s usually easier and seems to take fe!er clicks if you type your te t first and then apply the formatting later. The -re'ie! area !ill display !hat the te t !ill look like !ith the selected formatting applied.
