Chapter 1 Labs 1.01 Step 2: To explain functions, identify types, and troubleshoot different types of networks.

Step 3: Categorize different cable types, identify different types of connectors, identify common physical network topologies, wiring scenarios, categorize WAN and LAN, explain common logical network topologies and their characteristics, and install components of wiring distribution. Step 4: Install, configure and differentiate between common network devices, identify the functions of specialized network devices, explain the advanced features of a switch, and implement a basic wireless network. Step 5: Explain the function of each layer of the OSI model, identify types of configuration management documentation, given a scenario; evaluate the network based on configuration management documentation, Conduct network monitoring to identify performance and connectivity issues, explain different methods and rationales for network performance optimization, given a scenario, implement the following network troubleshooting methodology, and given a scenario, troubleshoot common connectivity issues and select an appropriate solution. Step 6: Explain the function of hardware and software security devices, explain common features of a firewall, explain the methods of network access security, and explain methods of user authentication. 1.02

Step 1: Other certifications include European Computer Driver License Foundation, Certiport, Cisco Systems, and Citrix. Some of the careers are Project management, Software architecture, database administration, and security. Step 2: CompTIA security + and CompTIA A + are the two I believe that could help get a Network + certification. Step 3: It would help to be certified by Microsoft because it could help the person get a better chance to get hired by a company, maybe even Microsoft. Step 4: It would help me understand different types if OS models. For example lets say a company uses Linux for something it would help to know how to use Linux. Step 5: It would help to know different types of networks, how they work, and how to install them. For example a company wants to install a Cisco network. By having a certification from them you are more likely to be hired by them. Step 6: To study different types of certifications and take any of them when I can. 1.03 Step 1: I will need 110 hours.
