Setting up of IT Complex cum Software Technology Park at Agartala Efforts to facilitate setting up of IT Industries in Tripura has been made

by Government of Tripura since long. The matter was also taken up with Software Technology Park of India, a GoI organization and it was proposed that built up space of at least 10,000 sqr. ft and minimum 2 acre of land would be provided by the state governments as its contribution. Software Technology Park of India was supposed to have the complete ownership of the infrastructure and also run and manage the IT Park. For the said purpose, initially, 20,738 Sqr. Ft of build up space of Bamboo and Cane Development Institute(BCDI) and 2 acrs of adjacent land was offered to STPI. The proposal was also approved by the Government of India and accordingly, a MoU was finalized. Subsequently, it was decided that the EPIP Building along with adjacent vacant land at Bhudjungnagar would be given to the STPI. STPI Officials visited the place and intimated that the proposed site was not suitable for the Software Technology Park. Now, a fresh initiative has been taken by Directorate of IT, Govt. of Tripura to construct a G+5 Building namely IT Complex cum Software Technology Park in the vacant land in front of Directorate of IT. It would be a State of the Art building with all modern facilities like high speed internet connectivity, 24 hours power supply, centralized AC and other basic facilities. TIDC has been entrusted to implement the project and TIDC has already selected Avon Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as the Project Management Consultant of the project through an open Tender. Total project cost is Rs.42.47 Crores. State Government has already placed fund of Rs. 12.25 Crores. Master Plan Drawing of the IT Complex cum STP has already been finalized and approved. M/S D K Infra has been selected as the construction agency by the Avon Technology through open tender.
