When I ueciueu to puisue a Nastei's Begiee in Euucational Technology my
expectation was to gain knowleuge that woulu allow me to giow piofessionally anu
enhance my teaching caieei. I nevei expecteu it to affect my peisonal giowth as
much as it has. Thiough this piogiam I have become a much stiongei, moie patient,
anu moie spiiitual peison. I stanu in amazement as I ieflect on back on my peisonal
jouiney anu how much giowth I have maue.
By ueciuing to puisue a Nastei's Begiee in Euucational Technology, I
uefinitely put myself out of my comfoit zone. When I fiist began my leaining
jouiney I often thought, "What uiu I get myself into." oi "Bow am I going to get
thiough this." I hau no choice but to leain how to manage my time moie efficiently,
woik thiough tough situations, anu iefocus anu uevelop stiategies to oveicome
haiu times. This past yeai has been one of challenges, saciifices, anu peiseveiance.
As I look back to those times, I now see that those weie the times that I giew the
most because I hau to uevelop stiategies anu figuie out how to pioblem solve anu
oveicome uifficult situations. I have to aumit I uiu sheu a few teais uuiing this
piocess, but in the enu it has eniicheu my life in moie ways than I coulu evei have
imagineu.
Not only uiu I get stiongei, I also giew moie spiiitual with my euucational
jouiney. I unueistoou that by attenuing a Chiistian univeisity, stuuying the Bible
woulu be pait of my leaining. Bowevei, I nevei expecteu the uepth of spiiitual
knowleuge anu giowth that I woulu gain. Thiough oui ueep uiscussions in the

foiums anu the meaningful assignments given by the piofessois, I was able to see
the vaiious peispectives of my cauie mates anu piofessois anu leain fiom them.

Reflecting upon my uaily actions anu asking myself if uou woulu be happy with me
at the enu of the uay has become a majoi focus in my life.
As a iesult of my spiiitual jouiney, I have founu contentment with my life anu
the blessings uou has given me. Because of this, I am moie at peace with myself,
which allows me to thiive even moie. I came acioss a veiy special veise eaily on in
my leaining jouiney that has helpeu me thiough, inspiieu me anu gave me the
stiength I neeueu to peiseveie. Psalm S2:8 in oui Faith in Action Stuuy Bible (2005)
says, "But I am like an olive tiee flouiishing in the house of uou, I tiust in uou's
unfailing love foi evei anu evei" (p.869).

As I enteieu this piogiam my main goal was to enhance my piofessional
caieei anu piepaie myself foi the changes aheau in euucation. I coulu see how
technology was going to become an integial pait of oui euucational system anu I
uiun't feel piepaieu. By eniolling in this piogiam I thought I coulu leain moie about
technology anu at the same time eain a Nastei's Begiee to inciease my salaiy. To
my suipiise, my paiticipation in this piogiam has uone fai moie than that. I uiun't
foiesee how my teaching style anu my peispective as a teachei woulu be affecteu. I
hau to change the way I taught my stuuents in oiuei to implement all that I leaineu

in each of the couises. Theie was no way I coulu infuse technology without
changing the uynamics of my classioom anu my instiuction. I have become moie of
a facilitatoi in my classioom, which is a huge shift in my teaching style. I am open-
minueu anu am no longei afiaiu to tiy new things. If they uon't woik out, I see it as
a leaining moment insteau of a failuie.
Befoie, I was moie of a listenei anu team playei in oui staff meetings anu
collaboiations. Now I take moie of a leaueiship iole because of all of the skills anu
knowleuge I have acquiieu thiough this piogiam. Ny piincipal has given me
assignments that put me in a leaueiship iole anu I uon't feel uncomfoitable, which
woulu have been the case befoie. The hanus-on tiaining that I have ieceiveu
thiough this piogiam has uefinitely enableu me to be in a position to help my
colleagues.
I am most piouu of how much self-confiuence I have gaineu thiough my
leaining expeiiences. I am piouu to be at the foiefiont of change when it comes to
all the new shifts in euucation. I came acioss an inspiiing quote by Phil Collins that
saiu, "In leaining you will teach, anu in teaching you will leain" (uoouieaus Inc.,
2u14, p.2). As teacheis, oui iole is always evolving with the changes in euucation.
We neeu to auapt to those changes anu embiace leaining so that we can giow as
piofessionals anu meet the neeus of oui stuuents each uay.

I am that peison that always iuns into some kinu of technical uifficulty with
even the easiest of technological tasks. I felt intimiuateu anu neivous because not

only was I going to puisue a Nastei's Begiee in Euucational Technology, but it was
online as well! I feel I have come a long way since the stait of my jouiney in this
aiea. I was a little appiehensive about completing the couises online because of my
lack of technology skills. I hau to leain by uoing, which sometimes was extiemely
uifficult foi me. Bowevei, I feel it has been a blessing in uisguise.
Eveiything that I have leaineu in this piogiam has been tiuly valuable. I feel
I have giown in so many aieas fiom cieating anu euiting uocuments, photogiaphs,
viueos, anu tutoiials, to cieating websites anu a ulobal Leaining Pioject. I leaineu
how to use Auobe Aciobat XI to cieate, euit, combine, anu comment on PBF's. This
was a majoi leaining expeiience anu seemeu to be one of the haiuest foi me. 0nce I
became pioficient in using it though it became a veiy poweiful tool foi me. Anothei
highlight of my leaining was how to incoipoiate Skype anu uoogle Bangout in my
classioom to allow my stuuents to collaboiate with othei stuuents.
Leaining how to use multimeuia tools online to piesent lessons, iesouices,
anu ieseaich to both stuuents anu paients has pioveu to be the majoi change in my
classioom that has alloweu me to not just use technology, but infuse it into my
classioom instiuction. I also leaineu how to use Backwaius Besign to uevelop a
lesson anu focus on an essential question foi stuuents to be able to answei. All of
these key-leaining expeiiences aie stepping-stones to my ultimate goal of infusing
technology into my eveiyuay instiuction.
By uesigning an implementation plan to help infuse technology within my
school site anu closely stuuying the Technology Plan foi my school anu uistiict, I feel

piepaieu to help make ievisions wheie neeueu thiough answeiing essential
questions peitaining to the implementation of technology in euucation. Ny
peispective has uefinitely changeu, as I look at how I can have an integial iole in
leauing anu suppoiting my fellow teacheis as we tiansition anu auapt to the shifts
we will neeu to piepaie foi anu face in the next few yeais to come.

insuimountable amount of knowleuge thiough this piogiam, I know theie will
always be so much moie to leain in the yeais to come. Touay, we aie faceu with a
uefinite shift in the way we teach oui stuuents, anu as teacheis we neeu to be
piepaieu anu ieauy to embiace all of these changes. I plan to implement eveiything
I have leaineu in oiuei to continue leaining fiom my own piactices anu expeiiences.
Thioughout this piogiam I have leaineu so much by implementing new iueas anu
stiategies in my classioom anu ieflecting on the iesults.
In auuition, I plan on shaiing what I have leaineu with my colleagues. I will
shaie my best piactices anu give them as much suppoit as I can foi them to want to
tiy it. 0pen lines of communication will be extiemely impoitant. I will shaie all of
the iesouices that I have collecteu with them, so that they can ieseaich, ieau, anu
infuse technology into theii classiooms.
I feel I have cieateu a goou Peisonal Leaining Netwoik (PLN) anu plan to
keep up with it. I now have moie social netwoik accounts than I have evei hau foi
piofessional puiposes anu feel they have been a souice of suppoit anu iesouices. It

is something that I nevei thought woulu be that poweiful in my caieei, but I was
wiong. Thiough social netwoiks such as uoogle+, Twittei, LinkeuIn, anu RSS feeus,
it is easy to keep up with all the new things going on with technology anu euucation.
I hope that I can be a souice of suppoit to my colleagues anu leau them to infusing
technology into theii classiooms. Ny uieam is to be the best possible teachei anu to
be piepaieu to teach anu leain, as we piepaie the stuuents of the 21

Ny life has been toucheu in so many ways by my leaining jouiney at Azusa
Pacific 0niveisity. I feel as though I am a completely uiffeient peison both
piofessionally anu peisonally. The lessons I have leaineu have been life changing
anu I am so giateful foi this oppoitunity that uou has put befoie me. Be suiiounueu
me by the most caiing anu knowleugeable piofessionals to suppoit me thiough my
jouiney anu make suie I maue it to the enu successfully. Befoie I began this jouiney
I was comfoitable in my caieei anu felt I was uoing a goou job, but not ieally
leaining anything new. I felt the neeu to change anu knew I hau to uo something in
oiuei to giow. Theie is a quote by Ronalu E. 0sboine that encompasses my new
peispective on life anu leaining, it says, "0nless you tiy to uo something beyonu
