Implementation Plan Anna McVey Azusa Pacific University

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN Implementation Plan 1. Intended Area of Focus: Professional Development

2. Specific Goals and Objectives: Professional Development Training for teachers to get familiar with Google Chromebooks Introduce them to the applications that are available for their students to use in the classroom when using Google Chromebooks Give teachers the time to practice using the Google Chromebook applications and become familiar with them The overall goal is for teachers to feel they are proficient in using Chromebooks with their students in the classroom 3. Timeline for Implementation First Session One hour and a half on Staff Collaboration Day 2:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. A second one hour session will be offered for those that would like more training using Google Chrome books Date To Be Announced 4. Action Plan Materials needed: Google Chromebooks (one per teacher) Internet Promethean Board Using a Promethean Board and a Google Chromebook I will demonstrate and allow for guided practice as I take teachers through the following steps: Introduce teachers to the Google Chromebooks Inform teachers that you do need a Google account in order to be able to use the applications available on Google Chrome books Inform teachers that all teachers and students in the Riverside Unified School District already have a Google Account assigned to them through the districts Haiku link. Teacher Google account username and passwords are: Username first initial + last name @rusdlearns.net Password - set to Welcome1 Student Google account username and passwords are: Username: first name + last name + last 3 digits of their lunch number Password: Welcome1 Teachers are able to change their password once they log on for the first time. Teachers are able to change their students passwords once students log on for the first time. The suggested password teachers should set student passwords to is: The students first initial + last initial + student 6 digit lunch number.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

Inform teachers that this is the suggested password for students because it is also their Accelerated Reader password and it will be easy for them to remember and not get confused. Once teachers have logged onto their Google Chromebook, I will allow them time to change their password if they would like I will then direct their attention to the tool bar at the bottom left corner of their screen I will go through each icon and explain their functions in detail The first icon is the Apps Icon I will explain to the teachers that this is where they will find all of the Google Apps that already are loaded onto the Chrome book, at the top there is also a search bar where they can search for additional apps I will direct their attention to ones that they may find very useful in their instruction, which include: Google docs, Google slides, and Google Sheets. There is also a Get Started icon that has an explore button, which guides them through a virtual tour of what a Google Chromebook has to offer and how to use it. I will then point out the following icons which they are probably familiar with which are the icons for the Google Chrome browser, Gmail, Google Search, Google Docs, and YouTube After guiding them through each of these icons and applications, I will allow them time to explore as I circulate the room and offer help if needed or answer any questions. This allows for differentiation and gives teachers the opportunity to work at their own pace. At the end of the Professional Development Session, I will hand out a Teacher Feedback Form to each teacher to allow me to measure the achievement of my goals and objectives. 5. Method for Measuring the achievement of my goals Completion of Teacher Feedback Form by teachers Review teacher comments and scoring on the Teacher Feedback Form Make necessary changes to improve or enhance upcoming trainings
