Never Left Forever by Nia Imani Confer Hed love the stories to be read in her eyes. Theyd bring blankets to the beach and think together. Hed become consumed by the happiness in her smile and yearned to partake. He lived in the spaces between her teeth and wrote love letters in the colors her heart would create. Shed sparked his curiosity in the matters of time. He began to fiddle with ideas of eternity, a challenging principle to intelligently favor, for a man of ladling metal, matter & math. Man a brawn and beer can kind of man. But the dream she stood for was enough to share, He didnt care about anything but her smile. Destiny introduced them, But their love was challenged with ego like dirt strains on a white shirt. Their passion had bred in a peace and in purity, weakened by the worlds hurt. He had to work. Times test posed threats, stubborn ears dont listen. People change, you know. Lives lived intertwined lose the glue that fused them together. Away on ships tinkering with matters of militancy, she was alone for so long shed lost track of time. She took a blanket to that same spot theyd sat and thought at, Larks whistled at her from the trees and when the winter nears the fowls fly south in harmony but with the possibility that one will stray off route

to lose track of love, life, and time. She smiles. Alone, with the birds and the beach. Preparing for her flight.
