The Mindanao News and Information Center Service Cooperative (MindaNews Co-Op), Co the only Mindanao-based based news cooperative agency, will hold the 1st Mindanao Book Festival on 9-10 April at the Institute for Autonomy & Governance (IAG) Conference Hall, 2nd Floor, UMEX Bldg, Notre Dame University, Cotabato City. The book festival will have lectures and presentation as well as a book exhibit and a book-selling book area. It shall do the rounds of the major citi cities of MindanaoCagayan Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Zamboangaas as well as two other venues, namely Cebu and Manila within 2014. The Festival theme is Writing Mindanao, Righting Mindanao. The book exhibit focuses on books and journals on Mindanao or written by Mindanawons. The book festival hopes to bring the authors, publishers, readers, and teachers to this historic gathering gatheringto to let them be on the same page, so to speakto to celebrate the best of what has been thought and said about Mindanao and to discuss Mindanao issues and concerns in in literature (indigenous, Islamized, and settler), histories, anthropological studies, scientific publications, among others. In connection with this, we would like to invite you to the said event including the exhibition of some of your Mindanao book collections, , if any any.
