three historical/cultural sites two entertainment sites (one of these must include an outdoor adventure). spend at least one night in a different city within the country (1-2 day excursion).
You will need to find out what the capital of your country is. This is most likely going to be the cheapest and easiest place to fly into. However, some of the larger countries have several large cities with airports. You will want to research your country a bit to see where you want to visit the most to know where to try to fly into. You may even need to consult a map to see where your city is and what other places there are to visit within a reasonable distance. You will want to leave from Salt Lake City. Most countries have their own airline. That is what you may want to use when planning your travel in the country. You will primarily use the internet for your information, but you must also have at least one source that is not the internet, such as material from the library. You may also use the help of a travel agent to plan your trip. However, if you call an
agent, you need to be sure and tell them immediately that this is a school project and explain your assignment to them. They may be able to give you some suggestions on where to travel or some sites to visit in this country. At the end of your research, you will make a presentation to the class about your trip. You may present it one of two ways. You may present it as if you are a travel agent and you are trying to sell this trip to an audience, or you may present this as if you actually went on the trip and you are sharing your pictures and information you learned along the way with the class. You may do a Powerpoint Presentation, a video, a commercial, a skit, a brochure, a poster, etc. How you present the material is up to you, but you must include all the information I have requested to get an A. Extra credit points will be awarded for using target vocabulary in your project/presentation. This project is also a contest. Your group must convice the rest of the class that your trip was better than the rest of the groups. At the end of every presentation, the class will vote on the best trip/presentation. The winning group will earn a 10% extra credit on their project and a small prize (Please don't ask me what it is...I won't tell you!). Here are some questions to help you. Find the answers to these as you do your research. What is the capital of the country?
