Provision of Medicines to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Dargai, Malakand

TEHSIL HEADQUARTER HOSPITAL, DARGAI-MALAKAND

The patients of Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Dargai, were faced with an acute shortage of medicines, as provision of free medicines to them was negligible. Patients in Emergency and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital was provided medicines to a relatively a greater extent, but persons admitted in wards or OPD could not get medicines. KP Health Departments policy stated that medicines would be provided to all patients coming to these hospitals, but that was not taking place. The hospital administration said that the scarcity of funds was main the reason behind non-provision of sufficient medicines to patients. The AAWAZ UC Forums members of UC Dargai & Kharkai meet with Member of National Assembly Mr. Junaid Akbar, Member of Provisional Assembly Mr. Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, EDO Health Dr. Muhammad Ali & Medical Superintendent Dr. Siraj Ali. The AAWAZ UC Forums members discussed shortage of medicines & medical supplies in the hospital

(The

ceremony was started at 11am on 11th January, 2013. The Medical Supplies including Medical, Surgical

support and consumables were handed over on to Khyber Teaching Hospitals Management by the Program Implementation Expert, Tayyab Hussain on behalf of Executive Director, PEI Mr. Shahid Yusaf at the ceremony arranged by the hospital administration.

PEI has already signed a Collaborative Grant Agreements with the Governments of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in health and social welfare sector to distribute medical goods in kind donations worth four billion rupees in the next 4 years to provide relief and assistance to improve medical service standards in the government

patients.
