When you first learn how to speak, what was your first word? For me, my first words w ere mommy. I would say my mother is a person that has, perseverance, kindness in her heart. I lo ve my mother like a fat kid loves sweets. My mom, by far, has had the greatest impact on my life . My mothers determination and kindness for anyone in need, is something that I can only hope t o have myself one day. I have watched her struggle with returning to college, full-time and with t rying to find job that would pay her enough money to pay bills and to keep food on the table. Although her struggles proved to be insurmountable at times, she always seemed to push herse lf through it with her great sense of humor, which is something that I have happily emulated fro m her. No one else in my family can turn a simple question into germane sarcasm like her. She u sually says things like, Do I look like your maid?, Boy Im your mother not your friend, Due to her wonderful sense of humor, my mom is able to bring everyone together by simply making them laugh their hearts out. My mother not only inspired me to overcome hurdles in my life, but also left me with invalua ble life lessons. Learning from my mother, was always something that I gladly couldnt eschew f rom doing, by her being the only person that I could learn from. While growing up, I used to call

her a Sesame Street Mom, because teaching me was something that she did with enthusiasm. F or example, at the age of 3 years old, she went through a long process of teaching me how to writ e my name, which was something that I had trouble with. Although I made some mistakes along the way, she always helped me get through them with a smile on her face. However, even though shes my mom, she sometimes feels like a big sister and a friend that I can share all my problem s and stories in life with. Looking back on my life I have seen my mother struggled in her own life to make show her on ly child is on the right track. My mother has always supported me in all my choices. She strived t o make me a strong person with an independent mind. I hope that someday I will be strong, healt hy, and as well-spoken as her. My mom is my rock, I thank her for teaching me the most importa nt thing in life - never give up on your dreams. I also thank her for helping me become person th at I am today. Im glad to say that her lessons have allowed me to substantiate acquisitive skills n eeded to achieve the highest level of greatness.
