    Procedure to configure Android for BU-Standard Wi-Fi Services

    A. Pre-requisite B. Installation and Connection Procedure C. Security Note

    A. Pre-requisite
    To access BU-Standard, the Android version must be v2.2 or above.

    B. Configuration Procedure (to be done once only)


    1. Go to the main menu. 2. Choose Settings. 3. Choose Wireless & Networks. 4. Choose Wi-Fi settings.

    5. Tap BU-Standard. 6. Set EAP Type to PEAP. 7. Set Phase 2 Authentication to MSCHAPV2.

    8. Set Identity to your HKBU SSOid.


    SSOid (Single-Sign-On Identity) For student: his/her student number, e.g. 12000000 For Staff: his/her email-name, e.g. chanman for chanman@hkbu.edu.hk

    9. Set Wireless password to your unified-password.

    *** No need for CA or Client certificate.

    10. Click Save. 11. Android should now connect to BU-Standard automatically.

    C. Security Note
    Since HKBU SSOid and unified-password are employed to login at BU-Standard Wi-Fi, as a better password security measure, you should change your unified-password periodically.
