My Educational Philosophy

Angelica Nelson CHD 265/298 001L Northern Virginia Community College 2014

I believe that all children should have the opportunity to thrive. Age, race, abilities, education and personal development shouldnt define a childs potential.

There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do. -Dr. Temple Grandin

I will always be a supportive and loving force behind my students, encouraging them to reach their goals and to dream of their future. I will not place limits or labels on my children.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings. -Ann Landers

I will communicate with parents and family, and make sure that they feel all of their needs are being met. I will be an advocate not only for my students, but for their families. I will provide information and guidance when possible, and will do my best to keep a judgment-free environment.

Love is relentless... Friendship is a relentless force. Family is a relentless force. Faith is relentless force. The human spirit is relentless, and the human heart outlasts... -Dean Koontz

I believe that I should learn alongside my children, always seeking professional development opportunities to better myself.
