REACTION PAPER FOR WEBINAR

First paragraph (Introduction)

• Give a quick preview of the most exciting part of the
activity/webinar

With COVID-19 growing over the world, retailers are analyzing rules and

formulating plans to adjust their shop operations to the new trends. However, because

e-Commerce provided more individualized experiences, merchants have battled with

this even before the epidemic. Now seems to be the time to start incorporating the

unexpected changes we've seen in futuristic retail stores. The webinar goes so well with

the flow and it makes me think of how hard it is for retail stores to come up with a new

plan in order to recover from those losses that pandemic gives the business. Most

exciting part for me is those deep thoughts that the resource speaker tells us and all the

way throughout the lecture proper seems so good for me because I’m able to relate with

the topic. Covid-19 brings many businesses into bankruptcy and it challenges all

entrepreneurs to cope up with the new normal. Honestly speaking, it is so exciting to be

able to join in a webinar like this and it will be a part of our journey as a professional.

Second paragraph (Body)

• Description of an influential person, place or event
• The effect of the person, place or event had on you at the time
• Lesson learned or gained knowledge from the webinar (on
person, place or event)

"The New Normal for Retail: Re-Imagining Retails in the Post-Covid19 Future" was the

title of the topic of the webinar and the resource speaker is no other than Mr. Jenbert

San Diego. New normal is not just for social distancing and health protocols but it is also

enclosed with businesses especially with the webinar topic which is “retail”. Retail is a

wide concept that embraces a massive business that employs thousands of people and
generates huge amounts of money in sales income each year. As COVID-19 erupts,

retails also need to go through or cope up with the term “new normal”, challenges faced

are discussed by the resource speaker and I will not forget those points. Consumer

behavior is a behaviourally process of creating new purchasing choices; what drives

them to make a purchase. If you are having a retail business in your house and you are

expecting walk-ins, Covid-19 will be a serious challenge that you will ever imagine

because many people nowadays are shopping online because of the pandemic.

Another one is the health protocols and restrictions that are implemented by the

government. It hits many small businesses because it can be considered as an

expense. Why? Because those things like alcohol, acrylic covers and many more will be

a requirement for you to continue and open your business in the midst of the pandemic.

It is also a big factor in return of investment because you don't know if your clients will

still be able to continue shopping and going to your store. There are different solutions

to the problems faced by the retail industry that are discussed, and I’m surely

persuaded that those are very helpful for us. The consultancy says they will need to

improve and adjust store operations and even during restoration, shops should develop

their prospective manpower to support the store's expanding role and increase worker

adaptability to be prepared for any repeated virus-related interruptions.

Third paragraph (Conclusion)

• Summary of the experience
• Overall impact/lesson learned

At some time, shops will resume and people will come back to employment, as seen in

nations like China where the epidemic has passed its height. The Covid-19 has

transformed customer behavior, probably forever, and retail businesses will have to put
these better habits into consideration. To enhance their capabilities when businesses

recover from recession, retailers should consider the circumstances of the post-

coronavirus era. The webinar is an eye opener for all junior marketing students like me

that are in the process of creating a future in the new normal. As I remember, the

speaker had a presentation that said: “there is nothing permanent except change”, for

me the meaning of this is that we should accept all the circumstances, challenges, or

hindrances that we will face in the near future. We cannot succeed if we don't fail,

because failure is the best teacher. As sir Jenbert concluded, we should also give

ourselves a second chance in order to improve and develop. If you refuse to improve

and learn new things, you will probably not grow as an entrepreneur or even a person.

One last thing that I also look forward to is having technopreneurship in this kind of

situation, because many industries moved in a strategy like this. Actually all over the

world. I look forward to always learning and motivating myself at all times because at

the end of the day, you and yourself will be the secret to success. Experience can show

you the way into the peak of the mountain, just open your mind to always improve and

develop skills.
