This new series turns to chamber music of the 19th century between 1830 and 1900 including trios, quartets, piano quintets, string sextets, clarinet quintets and others. Starting with Mendelssohn, Matthew will weave through the great names including Schumann and Brahms, Borodin and Tchaikovsky, Smetana and Dvo!k, Faur and early Debussy. For those who are a little timid about chamber music this is the best place to start. And be prepared for surprises and shocks!
