Article by: Evanus Schrivus Pertinax and Louius Regulus Pulcher Early yesterday morning the Senate convened at the Temple of the Concord and sentenced Lucius Aelius Sejanus to death. He was led from his containment in the prison stalks and forcibly strangled until he drew his final breath. Following his execution his body was cast upon the Gemonian Stairs where his corpse was dismembered by a collection of angry mobs. The enraged crowd then turned to the streets hunting down and killing anyone who they could connect to the regime of Sejanus. Evidence suggests that Sejanus was conspiring in a plot to overthrow Emperor Tiberius Caesar by integrating himself within the Julian family line as an adopted son. With this family connection he hoped to achieve leadership over the Roman state. Following his execution, Tiberius Caesar has issued a damnatio memoriae to have Sejanus' likeness struck from public records. Upon issue all memorials dedicated to Sejanus are to be destroyed removing him from recorded history. ~ See Sejanus on A-II for more.
