April 23, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Brittney Gardner, who

is currently a Child Development student at Richard J. Daley College. Brittney has taken several courses with me over the past year. She has proven herself to be a hard working student with a strong work ethic and excellent group work skills as well. All of these are traits that are invaluable in the field of early childhood education. In order to prepare this letter, I asked Ms. Gardner to write a self-reflection of her work in my courses. I agree with her conclusions. She approaches projects with enthusiasm and creativity. She obviously enjoyed doing her coursework. I feel that this is a very important trait for a future teacher to not only work hard, but to also have fun with projects and activities. She has also demonstrated an eagerness to learn about the field of education, and in my experience the best teachers are those who are lifelong learners. Finally, Brittney was open to and accepting of constructive criticism of her work, which is extremely important for both students and teachers. In conclusion, I fully support Brittney Gardner as a teacher candidate. She has demonstrated both a strong academic work ethic and very promising personal characteristics. It has been a pleasure to have Brittney in my classes and I look forward to visiting her in an early childhood classroom setting. Sincerely, Jennifer Alexander, M.Ed Richard J.
