Community Group Facilitators Guide Week of April 27, 2014 I Have a Friend Who Thinks All Religions Are

the Same Various Scriptures Intro: Friendships are all about conversations. Conversations provide the avenue for us to know what our friends are feeling and thinking. This series is a topical series designed to help us enter into some of the more difficult thoughts and feelings friends share with us in a way that is full of grace and truth. Opening the Group: Ask the group members to discuss what people typically do when you find yourself in a conversation with a friend that shares with you a struggle that makes you uncomfortable or a belief that is different than yours? Have group members share their perspectives on why these types of conversation can be so difficult. Discuss the Sermon: Ask group members to share any experiences they have had with this question. Have them share why it is important to be able to respond to this question. Next have group members share some specific ways this message will help them answer this question. Ask group members to identify ways they are tempted to respond when this questions is asked and how can they resist this now. If you have anyone in the group who does have a friend with this question ask them to share with the group what they think their next steps with them needs to look like. Prayer Time: Spend time praying for each other to develop friendships with people who need conversations about the truth of Christianity.
