Humanities 1100

Students think critically and creatively. The class taught me how to think critically because of all the reading that the instructor had provided us with. Mr. Bitter had questions at the beginning of every class that related to the topic we read about. Sometimes the questions were referred to only one story of our reading and other times he came up with questions that made us think deeply. Though there was almost never a wrong answer, if it was related to the topic, then Mr. Bitter will put it as one of the answers. One assignment was called the Museum Critique where the students were to go to an art museum and observe the gallery. I analyzed the painting and tried to relate it to the class and human culture.

Students develop the knowledge and skills of community engaged learners and scholars. The class had various types of sections that we have discussed. We discussed about religion, war, death, identity, privilege, and inequalities. The reading that were assigned to us had many historical values because it had to deal with from history of religion to letters written to Hitler during World War II. Religion values made us thing about the world through the eyes of different people. For example, believe that there are many Gods in the Hindu religion or only believing in one God like the Jews and Christians. Maybe even believing in no God like the Atheists. The political values can be gathered from this class as well. We discussed The Civil Rights Movement and Womens Rights and how these people had to work for to receive the rights that they deserved.
