respond to the tasks in the
discussion and ho& you might use
these likely responses to focus
students on the intended content.
; antici-ate that students +ill not have any e7-erience +ith the +e*site /Glogster1 and
+ill need some guidance in navigating the +e*site2 ,tudents have used !eynote and

u- the ma!eu- of the site -retty easily once ; +al! them through it2 9y students have
sho+n a lot of creativity in -osters. -o+er -oints/!ey notes and videos therefore ;
antici-ate a lot of creative and innovative uses of this +e*site and advertisements2 ;
antici-ate this activity to *e very engaging and get students e7cited a*out using their
-rior !no+ledge a*out advertisements and the *oo! to create a digital advertisement2
This e7tends my students learning *y giving them the s!ills and resources to create
advertisements as +ell as digital advertisement in their future education and -ossi*le
career2 The s!ills they +ill learn from this activity +ill e7tend to other creative and
educational activities including technology2
; +ill -resent the directions and information ver*ally as +ell as give students a
handout +ith their log in information and any directions or ti-s they may need in order
to *e successful during this activity2
,tudents +ill have the o-tion of -resenting their advertisement and e7-laining +hat
they designed and +hy they designed it. 8ust dis-laying their advertisement +ith no
ver*al com-onent or +rite an e7-lanation of their design2 This allo+s students multi-le
means of e7-ression of this activity2
,tudents are given a*out )5 minutes to an hour of reading +or!sho- each day2
:uring this time they are given the freedom to read inde-endently or +or! on their
advertisement2 They all !no+ the due date *ut can choose +hen they feel most

+hy did yo" select the
technology 'or this lesson,
; chose Glogster for this lesson *ecause it -rovided a great o--ortunity for students
to e7-lore a ne+ +e*site *ut not one that is drastically different than things they have
done +ithout technology2 9y mentor teacher suggested this +e*site and had only
good things to say a*out it2 ,tudents have made -osters. advertisements. -o+er
-oints and small videos *ut have not used this -articular technology for a -roduct li!e
a digital advertisement2 ,tudents have use des!to- and la-to-s in the classroom
frequently so ; !ne+ that they +ould *e a*le to handle using this technology2 ; thin!
the glogster +e*site allo+s for ne+ s!ills that e7tend out of the classroom and also

This lesson +ent really +ell e7ce-t some technical difficulties2 The students +ere very
engaged and e7cited to start +or!ing on their glogs and seemed to *e a*le to generate
a lot of great ideas of ho+ to -ersuade someone and +hat ty-es of things they should
include in an advertisement2 The set u- and introduction +or!ed +ell on my la-to- *ut ;
forgot to chec! if the +e*site +or!ed on the des! to- com-uters in the classroom2 The
students could log on fine *ut +ere not a*le to o-en u- any tem-lates for a ne+ glog2
,tudents had a chance to e7-lore the +e*site a little +hile ; tried to trou*leshoot +hich
+or!ed +ell *ut they did not get to +or! on their glogs the first day2 :uring my *rea! ;
tried the +e*site on a la-to- and it +or!ed2 ; reserved the la-to- cart for the rest of the
+ee! and +as a*le to have students +or! on their glogs during +riting +or!sho- and
they made a lot of -rogress2
The +e*site offered a free trial of the -remium version that allo+s the teacher to go onto
each student5s account and see their -rogress and ma!e any necessary changes2 This
e7-ires & days after the lesson +hich then s+itches to only letting the teacher see their
-u*lished -roduct2 When they finish ne7t +ee! ; +ill ta!e a loo! at their advertisements
*efore -resenting them to the class2
