Next Stop Color

In the context of this photo Obama is a man. However, in the bus he is a man of color. I
find it symbolic that he is sitting in the middle of the bus because whites sat in the front and
blacks in the back. Obama is black and white so he is between both races. He sits there thinking
how much struggle people went through because they were a darker shade. No matter how far up
he is in society even as the president of the United States people are going to constantly try to
use his skin color to demean him, to belittle him. Obama sits in the bus wondering how back then
skin color is your seating ticket. Rising up in the social ladder is allowed with the exception that
if your skin shade is darker people can challenge your capabilities, intelligence and your
significance.
