VIRGINIA 4-H GPS CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES

• These activities are designed to be used in group situations – 4-H clubs and
project groups, camp classes, school groups, workshops, etc. Also see:
http://www.4-h.ext.vt.edu/programs/nree/gpsgis/index.html
• Two versions are currently available. One is worded for the yellow Garmin
eTrex GPS receivers (the model used in the Basic Virginia 4-H GPS Educational
Kits). The other is worded for the blue Garmin eTrex Legend GPS receivers
(used in the Advanced Virginia 4-H GPS Educational Kit).
• A third version is being developed for the newer Garmin eTrex Venture HC
GPS receiver and related models.
• Any of these activity instructions can easily be altered for use with other GPS
receiver models.

Comments and suggestions regarding these activities and other components of the
Virginia 4-H GPS curriculum are appreciated. They are “a work in progress”!
