DETAILS OF THE GROUP ASSIGNMENTS

During the semester, each student will be assigned to a small group of around 4 to 6 to complete a task
relevant to the topics covered in the prior lectures twice in TWO predetermined tutorial tasks. While one
tutorial will be given as a planning session for the task, a presentation will be required and be held at the
following one/two tutorials. In addition, a summary report is also required for the presented topic. The
paper is due ONE week after the presentation.

a) For the Presentations

Each group member must participate in the presentation. Thus, besides sharing ideas in response to
the case assigned, it is important for the group to co-ordinate and discuss among themselves at the
planning section on matters such as the distribution of responsibility and the allocation of time. The
group should observe the time limit set for the task and keep their presentation on time.

b) For the Papers

Each small group should organize to write and submit a summary report of no more than 1000 words on
the presented topic. The report should be a united effort of the small group and each individual group
member should be responsible for writing a part of it or editing its final version. The paper must be typed
on A4 size paper with double-line spacing, and margins of 1 inch should be observed. The paper
should be submitted to the relevant instructor ONE week after the date of the presentation.

Late submission without justifiable reasons and prior approval from the instructor will be penalized by
lowering grade/mark from the original mark. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and not acceptable; please
note the official line regarding penalty as stated in the student handbook applies.

Guidelines for the paper’s content

1. Cover page – Name & Student ID no. of each group member, course code and name, lecture group
(101 / 102), tutorial group (A / B / C / D / E), title of your paper, instructor’s name, and date of
submission should be on the cover page.
2. Content pages
i) Briefly describe your case
ii) Your presented ideas/solutions/strategies
iii) The relevant psychological concepts/theories applied
iv) List total words count at the end of your last paragraph (e.g. 996 words)
