What is the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)?

As part of the new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), charter schools, school
districts and county offices of education are required to develop and annually update a
three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), beginning in July 1, 2014, using a
template adopted by the California State Board of Education. The LCAP must focus on
eight areas identified as state priorities. The plans will also demonstrate how the districts
budget will help achieve the goals, and assess how well the strategies in the plans were
able to improve outcomes. Most requirements for the LCAP were already met with the
creation of our charter petition; however, we do need to express in our LCAP how the
states eight priorities are being addressed. We need your assistance.

LCAP Parent Meeting
William Lee College Prep will hold a meeting on May 22 at 5:30 pm for the purpose of
obtaining your input on the LCAP. Interested parents should attend. Parents who serve
on School Site Council, as well as other parent groups should plan to attend and sign in.

Parent Surveys
In addition, a parent survey for the 2014 school year is now underway. We urge all
parents to respond to the survey questions which provide additional guidance regarding
ways to improve programs and operations.

LCAP Posting
It is our intent to post the LCAP on the William Lee College Prep website once it has
been approved by the Fortune School Board of Directors in June, 2014.
