New Year New Forms

Principals Message
We have worked extremely hard the
past 2 weeks building strong culture and solid
relationships. It is now for curriculum based
instruction to begin. It is imperative we keep
up a strong pace each week regarding lesson
planning, lesson execution, data reflections,
and student assessment.
Fortune School Big Goals:
1. Academic - FS scholars will perform at an
80% proficiency level in all core subjects
(English Language Arts, Math, Science, and
Social Studies)
2. Attendance - 96% of all FS students will
be at school, on time, every day.
100% of early dismissals are for
valid reasons only
3. Volunteer Service 100% of all FS
families will complete at least 40 hours of
volunteer service.
4. Retention - 80% of all FS students will
remain at Fortune School each school year
without disenrollment or withdrawal.
5. Behavior 100% of FS students will
remain in-class without making poor choices
that lead to disrupted learning within the
classroom environment.

Parenthood Meeting
Wednesday, September 14 @6:00PM
All families are expected to attend.
Parenthood is an organization of mothers,
fathers, guardians and grandparents. As
a community we make the school a better
place.

Please turn in your Emergency

and Identification Information form
and your Free or Reduced Meal
application. Please keep your
lunch and After School Program
balances current.

Change of Clothes!
Please send a change of clothes with your
scholar every day if he/she is prone to
have bathroom accidents.

4th Annual Back to School BBQ

Saturday, September 10th 11:00am-1:00pm
Cost: $15.00 per Family cash only
Includes: Entrance to Safetyville and Lunch for the
whole family
*Parents/Guardians must stay at the event with
your children *
Bike Give-Away! 10 lucky scholars will win a bike
or scooter! If you dont have a helmet, you will get
one for free. Please bring your helmet. Please
bring your bike, roller skates,
scooter or skate board with you to
the event.

meeting will receive 10 Parent
volunteer hours

Fortunes Annual Fall Festival will be held on

Friday, October 14th from 6-8:00pm. Scholars
are welcome to wear their friendly, not scary
costumes. Activities include Trick or Treat,
Carnival Games, prizes, Block Party-DJ,
Dancing and Picture taking.

Uniforms!

Mr. Ivy with Elite Sports will be on

campus on Friday, September 9th and
23rd 3-4:30PM
Scholars are able to wear a collard,
white, buttoned up shirt until the orange
Fortune School polo shirts are delivered.

Donations Needed:
Candy- individually wrapped
Prizes- pencils, rings, etc.
Water- small bottles
Decorations-not scary

Fortune School and your scholar need your help. All

families are asked to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours
per school year. In order to volunteer on campus and
attend Field Lessons, you must be finger printed.

use this form to get fingerprinted.
