School Advisory Council Meeting

Members Present: John Wiggins, Beth Swenson, Lisa Jarrard,
Tracy Giles & Donna Ertzberger
Students are finishing end of year assessments. These
assessments include:
-Student Learning Objectives Assessment in K-3.
-The Developmental Reading Assessment will be completed for all
students to determine end of the year reading levels
-CRCT in grades 3-5 (CRCT scores will not likely come back
before school gets out)
Awards Day 5/20- During Connections Time

grade Awards Night 5/21 @ 6:00
Various End of Year Activities will be taking place over the next
few weeks
Lanier had a great turnout at Science Night on May 9
th

Field Day- May 16
th

School Beautification- Mrs. Swenson, Mrs. Scheman & Mrs. Horn
will be heading up a school beautification project this summer
with assistance from Para pros. This project will include new
signage throughout school, murals in lunchroom, and the display of
our mission/vision. They hope to have the project completed by
Open House.
Hall County schools will be going through the accreditation
process this year through SACS (Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools). Lanier will have its GAPSS visit (The
Georgia Assessment of Performance on School Standards) on
December 14
th
, 2014.
Parents and community members/stakeholders have seen several
requests to complete surveys this school year. These surveys
provide valuable information and will be a part of the SACS and
GAPSS process. Parents are encouraged to complete these
surveys if they have not already done so.
