Kindergarten Reading Lesson Plan
Goal: For the students to be able to read a book on their reading level.
Objective: The students will read a book to the teacher or the student teacher.
Set: We have been learning how to read a book."
Advanced Organizer: Today you will read a book to me."
Producer:
1. Have the students come out into the hallway one at a time.
2. Have the student sit next to the teacher either on the ground or in a chair.
3. Have the student pick a book out of a group of three; those books should be
on that students reading level.
4. Tell the students to point to the words as they read the book.
5. Have the student read the book to you. Help them sound out a word if they
are stumbling.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for all the students in your classroom.
7. Clean up.

Closer: When you go home I want each and every one of you to read a book tonight
with your parent or guardian. The reason you are doing this is because we want
you to be able to read and in order to do anything, like reading, you must
practice to become good at it.
