There are some places that

you would want to avoid when

you're in Louisiana. One place
us the Tiger Truck Stop in
Grosse Tete. This place keeps
a tiger in a cage and it seems
very depressed. They also have
bad food. Another one is the
Sweet Inn Motel. People say
this is a drug house and the
employees are scammers. The
last one is the Le Petit Motel.
There is a crazy receptionist
that will probably pull a gun
out on you.

Advice
Louisiana is a great place to vis-
it. There are many places to see
and things to do. The food
there is divine, and it is bursting
with lots of different cultures
from around the world. The
people there are friendly and
will be sure to welcome you to
their state.

Louisiana, located in the deep
south, became the 18th state in
1832. Theres a strong Spanish
and French influence in Louisi-
ana from settlers. Louisiana is
nicknamed the Pelican State.
The current governor is Bobby
Jindal, and the population is 4
million people.
Lodging
If you happen to be in New Orleans
to visit the French Quarter, you might
want to stay at the Sheraton Hotel.
This hotel has an indoor restaurant.
In Baton Rouge, the Crowne Plaza is
a good place to stay because they
guest rating is good.
Activities
One of the things that you really
want to visit is a Mardi Gras festival,
which is in early March. If youre
there in the summer, then you
should visit Blue Bayou & Dixie
Landin, an amusement/water park.
Dining
You never go to Louisiana without
tasting the food. A place I recom-
mend is Dempseys Poboys in Ba-
ton Rouge. This place has local
food that is their specialty. Another
place is Southern Candymakers in
New Orleans. This is a candy shop
and they make pralines, a nutty
candy.
Sites to See
One of the many sites to see is the
St. Louis Cathedral in New Orle-
ans. It is the oldest cathedral in the
U.S. Another one
is the Atchafalaya
Swamp Basin.
You can also take
a tour of Avery
Island, where to-
bacco sauce is made.

Other food you may want to try are
gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets,
which are donut-like food covered in
honey and sprinkled with powdered
sugar.
