2. Material of the beam: The material of the beam is taken as structural
steel. Which has following properties

3. Ansys analysis steps:

Step1. Start the workbench module of ansys.
Step2. Select the static structural

Force Fy=100N

1. Drawing of beam

Step3. Select Engineering data and double click on it. A window will
open from where choose library icon.

This library will show different materials in it. From here choose structral steel.

Step 4: return to project: go to geometry tab which will open Ansys modeller.
Form here design the 3d model of cantilever beam given in question.

Step 5: return back to the project and choose the model
option form work bench. From the modeller choose mesh
from the project tree.

Meshing: Meshing option will provide different option given below in the box
naming Details of mesh. From this option set sizing of mesh as fine. Then
click generate to generate the mesh. This will generate following meshing.

Step6 Supports : click the supports command
from the menu bar of ansys model module.

And provide fixed support at any one of the cross section of the beam.

Step 7 loading: Select the loads button from
menu bar
Apply load of -100 N at the other end of cross
section of the beam in y direction ,.

Step 8 Solution: select the solution link from the tree diagram and select
whatever solution you want , in our case it is the deformation, equivalent
stress and strain ( von mises) .

Finally click on solve option given on top at the title bar and let the program
solve the given condition. Finally the results will be generated.
