and supplies. Anyone using any of the tools or supplies is personally responsible for learning the proper technique involved,

STEP 1:
Measure the dimensions of one
pallet and cut a piece of plywood
to the same measurements. Cut
using a circular saw.
STEP 2:
Position plywood on top of the
base pallet and attach by screwing
through plywood into the slats of
pallets around the top edges using
1 3/4" screws. Line-up the frst
vertical pallet and screw into base
through 2x4s. Screw the second
vertical pallet into the base in the
same way, and through the corner
created into the frst vertical
pallet.
STEP 3:
Using a pull saw, take the third
vertical pallet and cut a rectangle
through the pallet 2x4s big
enough to ft your dog.
STEP 4:
Measure the inside dimensions
of the rectangle cutout, and create
2 pieces from the 1"x6" decking
that will create the doorframe
at the top and bottom of the
rectangle. Screw them into place
through the ends of the pallet
decking. Measure and cut pieces
of 1"x6" for the sides. Screw those
into place as well, and then
screw that pallet onto the third
side of the base, as well as to the
second vertical pallet.
STEP 5:
Using the 1 1/4" screws to secure,
apply the 1"x6"x40" slats to board
and batten the outside of the
three vertical pallets so that all of
the spaces in the decking are
covered. Cut additional 1"x6" down
for the spaces around the doorway
to the appropriate lengths.
STEP 6:
Cut a pallet along the middle 2"x4",
through the decking and end
members so that you have a base
for the porch, and measure
and cut a piece of plywood to cover
that. Screw the pallet into the
wall with the doorway in it along
the base, and then screw down
the plywood. Position the fnal
vertical pallet directly across the
porch piece, screw in place along
the base and then screw a board
across the top to hold the pallet in
place while you create the back.
STEP 7:
Measure and cut a piece of
plywood that covers the entire
back of the pallet box, porch and
exterior wall that youve created,
and screw in place. The plywood
should be taller than the pallet
walls. Then position the two roof
pallets and hold them in place
while you draw the angle of the
roof onto the back pallet and make
that angled cut on both sides.
If the plywood is not tall enough
to reach the top of the roof in back,
cut another piece of plywood
into a triangle that will complete
the house shape of the back and
screw that onto the roof pallets.
Cut a 1"x6" so that it will support
the center of the roof angle, and
screw it into the interior of the
house directly underneath that
center point.
STEP 8:
Rip a 1"x6" lengthwise to ft into
the gap between the top 2 pallets,
and use a block plane to angle
the bottom edges of the piece,
which will wedge between the roof
pallets. Screw both pallets into
that piece.
STEP 9:
Screw the roof pallets into the
tops of the walls and to the anchor
into the front. Nail horizontal
wooden closure strips 2/3 the
way up the roof pallets, along the
lowest roof edges and to the top/
bottom of the porch wall pallet.
STEP 10:
Cut down sheets of polycarbonate
to cover the roof and the wall.
Screw the polycarbonate into place.
Screw down a 1"x6" along the
ridgeline of the roof, so that
the edges of the polycarbonate
run underneath the board.
STEP 11:
Measure and cut two pieces of
1"x6" that will cover the front edge
of the roof pallets, creating a
facing that meets in the center cut
at the roof angle. Screw to the roof
pallets. Cut triangular eave blocks
that will screw onto the facing
at the ends of the roof pallets and
2/3 of the distance up towards
the roof peak. Nail down wooden
closure strips along those lines
and out onto the eave blocks.
Lay out polycarbonate and screw
down to wiggle board (pre-drill to
avoid splitting the polycarbonate).

*In hotter climates, lose polycarbonate wall on porch
and add an additional ventilation die cut in back
plywood for more air fow. Non clear polycarbonate is also
available for a more shaded dog house.
