Please accept this letter of recommendation as being indicative of my strong support of Mrs. Dawn Lam as an English teacher at your high school. I have known Dawn professionally, for the past 7 years that I have worked at El Rancho High School.
Having been involved in education at a variety of levels ranging from the middle school to collegiate levels, I am confident in saying that Dawn is one of the most honest, loyal and prepared individuals that I have the pleasure of working with. Her spirit and dedication to ERHS community is unparalleled.
As a classroom teacher, Mrs. Lam is proactive, engaging and innovative. Her content knowledge and implementation of instructional strategies is second to none, a result of a tireless commitment to professionally grow. With her students, Mrs. Lam has established an excellent rapport where students can safely participate as active learners in higher order thinking activities such as Socratic Seminars and Literature Circles.
As a Resource Teacher, Mrs. Lam is self-directed. She makes effective use of her time, diligently researching and implementing current educational trends, teaching strategies and methodologies. She is trained in our student data management system, EAGLE as well as EADMS, our student assessment management system. She is integral to our state standardized testing as she assists in the counting, sorting and proctoring CSTs, CAHSEE, SBAC, and EAP exams. In addition, Mrs. Lam has been a consistent voice and presenter in our site Professional Development committee that plans and inservices faculty in our transition to the Common Core. Finally, she is a facilitator of Professional Rounds at ERHS, successfully leading her colleagues in professional conversations regarding pedagogy and effective instruction.
It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend Mrs. Dawn Lam a candidate for an English teaching position in your high school. Dawn will prove to be an invaluable asset to the educational community that is fortunate enough to have her as part of their community of learners.
