On November 19, 2009, at 7:14 a.m. the Denver Police Department received a
call from a passerby indicating there was suspicious activity at the Southwest
Community Credit Union located at 3299 W. Alameda. Officers responded and
set up around the bank. Two males attempted to flee from inside the bank but
were immediately arrested.

Officers learned the men had attempted to commit a robbery at the credit union
and that at least one of the suspects was armed. The suspects were identified
as:

Paris Peterson (DOB 9/5/84), and

Markieth Chandler (DOB 8/9/82)

The suspect’s photos will not be released pending line-ups and further
investigation.

There were no injuries and officers are commended for their rapid response and
safe apprehension of these dangerous suspects.

The Denver Police Department would also like to thank the passerby who took
the time to note suspicious activity and report it to police. This is an excellent
example of the community-police partnership and how it effectively works to stop
crime.
