(225) Authentic Hadith Series 4 [72 to 78]
(72) Death Will Be Brought On The Day Of Resurrection In The Form Of Ram:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri R.A., Allahs Messenger SAWS said, on the Day of Resurrection, death will be
brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram. Then a call-maker will call, O people of Paradise!
Thereupon they will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, Do you know this? They will say,
Yes, this isdeath. By then all of them would have seen it. Then it will be announced again, O people of Hell!
They will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say , Do you know this? They will say , Yes, this is
death. And by then all of them would have seen it. Then it (that ram) will be slaughtered and the caller will say, O
people of Paradise! Eternity for you and no death. O people of Hell! Eternity for you and no death. Then the
Prophet SAWS recited, Answarn them (O Muhammad SAWS) of the Day of grief and regrets when the case has
been decided, while (now) they (i.e., the people of the world) are in astate of carelessness and they believe
not.[Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No.254].
(73) Luqman:
Ibn Jarir recorded that Khalid Ar-Rabia said, Luqman was an Ethopian slave who was a carpenter. His master
said to him, Slaughter this sheep for us. So he slaughtered it. [His master] said, Bring the best two pieces from
it. So he brought out the tongue and the heart. Then time passed, as much as Allah willed, and [his master] said,
Slaughter this sheep for us., so he slaughtered it. [His master] said, Bring the worst two morsels from it. So he
brought out the tongue and the heart. His master said to him, I told you to bring out the best two pieces, and you
brought these, then I told you to bring out the worst two pieces, and you brought these! Luqman said, There is
nothing better than these if they are good, and there is nothing worse than these if they are bad.[At-Tabari
20:135]
Shubah narrated from Al-Hakam, from Mujahid. Luqman was a righteous servant, but he was not a Prophet.[At-
Tabari 20:134].
(74) Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl:
Ibn Kathir in his Book of Tafsir as regards this Verse, And when harm touches you upon sea, those that you call
upon vanish from you except Him (Allah alone). But when He brings you safe to land, you turn away (from Him).
And man is ever ungreatful.[Al-Isra 17:67].
Said Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl fled from Allahs Messenger SAWS (at the time) when Makkaah was conquered. He rode
over the (Red) Sea to cross over to Ethopia, but (as they proceeded), a heavy stormy wind overtook their boat,
and huge waves came to them from all sides, and they thought that they are encircled therein. The people of the
boat said to one another, None can save you except Allah (the Only True God of the heavens and earth). So
invoke (call upon) Him (Allah) (by making your Faith pure for him Alone and none else) to deliver you safe (from
drwning). Ikrimah said to himself. By Allah if none can benefit in thesea except Allah (Alone) then no doubt none
can benefit over the land except Allah (Alone). O Allah! I promise You that if You delivered me safe from this, I will
go and put my hands in the hands of (Prophet) Muhammad and surely I will find him full of pity, kindness and
mercy. So they were delivered safe (by Allah), and returned to their sea-shore and came out of the sea. Ikrimah
then proceeded to Allahs Messenger, Muhammad SAWS, (narrated his story), embraced Islam (just as he
promised Allah), and became a perfect Muslim.[Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
(75) Ibrahim A.S.s Call for Hajj:
And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will
come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj).[Al-Hajj 22:27]
Allah tells Ibrahim A.S. to announce the pilgrimage to mankind and call them to perform pilgrimage to this House
which We have commanded you to build. It was said that Ibrahim said, O Lord, how can I convey this to people
when my voice will not reach them? It was said, Call them and We will convey it. So Ibrahim stood up and said,
O mankind! Your Lord has established a House so come on pilgrimage to it. It is said that the mountains lowered
themselves so that his voice would reach all the regions of the earth, and those who were still in their mothers
wombsand their fathers loins would hear the call. The response came from every one in the cities, deserts and
countryside, and those whom Allah has decreed will make the pilgrimage, until the Day of Resurrection: At Your
service, O Allah, at Your service,[Labaik Allahumma Labaik! Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik!] This is a summary of
the narrations from Abn Abbas, Mujahid, Ikrimah, Said bin Jubayr., and others among Salaf. [At-Tabari
18:605,606,607].
(76) Finger Prints:
Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.[Al-Qiyamah 75:4]
Each human being has his or her own special finger prints not resembling anyone else, indicating that our Lord
(Allah) is the Most Superior Creator of everything: La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but
He).
(77) Ran (Covering of Sins and Evil Deed):
Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (Covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.[At-Mutaffifin
83:14]
Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A., Allahs Messenger SAWS said, When a slave (a person) commits a sin (an evil
deed) a black dot is dotted on his heart. Then if that person gives up that evil deed (sin), begs Allah to forgive him,
and repents, then his heart is cleared (from that heart covering dot); but if he repeats the evil deed (sin), then that
covering is increased till his heart is completely covered with it. And that is Ar-Ran which Allah mentioned (in the
Quran), Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.[At-
Tirmidhi, Vol.5, Hadith No.3334].
(78) Beware of Suspicion:
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicionsare sins. Andspy not, neither backbite one
another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear
Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.[Al-Hujrat 49:12]
a) Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A., Allahs Messenger SAWS said, Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of
false tales; and do not look for one others faults, and do not do spying on one another, and do not practice Najsh*
and do not be jealous of one another, and do not hate one another, and do not desert (stop talking to) one another.
And O Allahs worshippers! Be brothers![Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.8, Hadith No.92]
b) Narrated Hudhaifah R.A., I heard the Prophet SAWS saying, A Qattat** will not enter Paradise.[Sahih Al-
Bukhari, Vol.8, Hadith No.82]
c) Backbiting and the statement of Allah Aj Wa Jal, And spy not, neither backbite one another.
Narrated Ibn abbas R.A., Allahs Messenger SAWS passed by two graves and said, Both of them (persons in the
grave) are being tortured, and they are not being tortured for a major sin. This one used not to save himself from
being soiled with his urine, and the other used to go about with calumnies (among the people to rouse hostilities,
e.g., one goes to a person and tells him that so-and-so says about him such andsuch evil things). The prophet
SAWS then asked for a green branch of a date-palm tree, split it into two piecesand planted one on each grave
and said, It is hoped that their punishment may be abated till those two piecesof the branch get dried.***[Sahih
Al-Bukhari, Vol.8, Hadith No.78]
Najsh means to offer a high price for something in order to allure another customer who is interested in the
thing.
**A Qattat is a person who conveys disagreeable, false information from one person to another with the
intention of causing harm and enmity between them.
***This action was a kind of invocation on the part of the Prophet SAWS for the deceased persons.[Fath Al-bari,
Vol.1, Page 332].
